So, is the Democrat Party forming a circular firing squad?
Kinda looks that way, doesn't it? First Harry Reid's chief of staff David Krone tore the White House a new one in the shell-shocked aftermath of the 2014 midterms. Here's the Washington Post, of all places, reporting on the spilled blood:
Harry Reid's top man tears apart the White House (h/t Instapundit)
And now NY Senator Chuck Schumer comes out and claims that the Democrats shouldn't have concentrated on health insurance reform (the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as the PPACA, the ACA, or Obamacare) in 2009 and 2010, but instead should have paid more attention to the economic situation and the browbeaten, downtrodden middle class. From the delightfully snarky Ace of Spades HQ:
Charles Schumer: Passing Obamacare Instead of Dealing With the Recession Was a Mistake
It's a bit late for second thoughts, Senator. Besides, several conservative blogs have no trouble reading Senator Schumer's motives at a deeper level. From the inestimable VodkaPundit (Stephen Green) on PJMedia.com:
Schumer: ♡bamaCare!!! Was a Mistake
A similar take from the always excellent Moe Lane:
Chuck Schumer quietly starts distancing Democrats from Obama for 2016.
And again from Ace of Spades:
Second Take: Schumer's Merely Attempting a Trial Balloon Tactic of Distancing Democrats From Obamacare, While Continuing to Support and Defend It
So is there a civil war brewing among the Donkeys or not? The Fiscal Times seems to think the conflict is less among the Democrat Party and more between the Democrats and their erstwhile party leader in the Oval Office. After all, while his policies remain on the ballot (that one's from HotAir.com), his name isn't — but theirs are.
Tensions flare between Senate Democrats, White House
2016 just keeps getting interestinger and interestinger.
